Microsoft-Yahoo merger ??

Microsoft Inc. bids to buy Yahoo Inc. for $44 billion, which would shake up the technology world and would lead the software giant to give a shot at Google Inc's dominance in moneymaking Online search and Advertising, for which it has been aggressively thriving for the past few years. but it is not going to be really smooth one.

As, Microsoft's CEO Steve Ballmer is making his move on Yahoo, this made latter stocks go up by 18%. This move by Microsoft was pursued by the Google's acquisition of double click inc. ( Online advertising company ) on which Microsoft had also set its eyes on. Soon after the deal was made , Microsoft made some allegations on the grounds of anti-trust. Microsoft has been spending millions or even billions to increase its stand in the booming online advertising market.

Yahoo Inc's top management faces the biggest decision in its company's history. This undoubtedly gives Yahoo a more lucrative future on merging with the software industry behemoth. Now for Yahoo, it is been under a low which it has not seen since 2003. This proposal is mix of cash and stock.

Microsoft feels Yahoo is the right chance to baffle Google and takes always a long term steps .There are many stats Yahoo has to ponder on. Yahoo has to keep its doors open for additional offers. Now the main question will be "
Will Microsoft confront a competitor in its bid on Yahoo's acquisition. One of the major player would be AOL (Time Warner) to expand its online business. But the high price set by the Microsoft is scaring off the other contenders for Yahoo.

The area where this joint venture would command is in the market for presenting ad's ( online advertising )
